James looks down

James falls through a hole, he is stopped from falling all the way by his spade jamming across the gap. POV looking from the top of the hole

JAMES: SOME DENSE


POV of frame 4 looking from underneath. James is dangling from a hole

JAMES: SOME NOT SO DENSE


James hands slip off the spade. POV looking from the top of the hole

JAMES: BUT THEY ALL HAVE SOMETHING IN COMMON,


James lands on the ground on his arse with a bump, a body can be seen looking at him

Sfx: KERBUMP

JAMES: GIVEN ENOUGH TIME THEY ALL COLLAPSE

A hand appears on James's shoulder, it is Liam an old man

LIAM: GREETINGS


Liam helps James up

LIAM: YOU'RE NOT QUITE WHAT I EXPECTED

Liam walks James past a number of prisoner huts in the prison compound

LIAM: BEST FIND A BUNK, OUR HUT HAS ATHLETE'S FOOT, OTHERS ARE NOT SO LUCKY


Liam shows James to the door of the hut, all it's occupants are in bed

JAMES: DOESN'T MATTER MUCH, AFTER PROCESSING YOU'LL NEED TO REST AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.


The lock on the compound gates

LIAM: THEY COME IN AND OUT OF THAT GATE. THE LOCK'S DEFEATED EVERYONE WHOSE ATTEMPTED IT


James turns away from the gates

JAMES: THE DIFFERENCE IS I'M NOT TRYING TO GET OUT, I'M JUST PASSING THROUGH

INTERROGATOR: DNA IDENTIFICATION COMPLETE. NO CURRENT RECORD ON FILE.

JAMES: I'LL JUST BE ON MY WAY

INTERROGATOR: NEW FILE CREATED


James is given an aural examination

INTERROGATOR: HEALTH CHECK COMPLETE, SUBJECT 98% OF VITAL SIGNS


James sits in a padded chair

JAMES: I'M NOT PAYING FOR THIS, I BELIEVE IN THE NHS


The Interrogator consults a computer.

INTERROGATOR: ANONYMOUS DATABASE AUDIT. NO KNOWN PROVISOS ON PROCESSING


Interrogator cracks his knuckles

JAMES: DO YOU MIND? I FIND CRACKING VERY OBJECTIONABLE


A crippled James lies in pain in the prison compound

Caption: MUCH LATER

INTERROGATOR: VITAL SIGNS AT 15%, SUGGEST CESSATION OF PROCESSING

James stands up and vainly reaches at the hole from whence he dropped in

LIAM: YOU SHOULD REST THEY'LL ONLY GIVE YOU A FEW DAYS TO RECOVER


James's spade comes crashing through the hole. POV looking from the top of the hole

JAMES: NOT STOPPING...


James catches his spade as it falls towards him

JAMES: ... JUST PASSING THROUGH


James attacks the lock with his spade

JAMES: LOCKS MAY NOT BE BROKEN BUT THEY CAN BE OPENED


James shouts at the Interrogator

JAMES: YOU GUARDS IN HERE NOW OR YOU'LL BE DOUBLE DUG


James walks off leaving the captors and the captives together

LIAM: LET *US* OUT WE'VE DONE NOTHING

INTERROGATOR: NO LET *US* OUT WE'RE OFFICIALLY SANCTIONED

JAMES: IT WAS LUCK WHAT SIDE OF THE BARS I FELL. YOU'RE ON EQUAL TERMS NOW, YOU'LL WORK SOMETHING OUT.
